Official CLCP Statement on the 2022 National Elections

April 07, 2022 | Story by: Christian Life Community in the Philippines | We beg the Lord for the grace to be faithful to the mission to live faith that does justice for the building of His Kingdom in our beloved Pilipinas, bayang magiliw at lupang hinirang.

We are the Christian Life Community in the Philippines, an Ignatian discerning apostolic community that is part of one world community of lay people who seek to follow Jesus Christ more closely and work with Him for the building of the Kingdom. As the CLC, we stand for the Gospel values of Truth and Justice, Love and Compassion, Solidarity with the Poor, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation.

Imbued with a sense of the Church, we seek to participate in Christ's mission to bring about maturity in faith and social justice with a sense of urgency and availability to serve where we are most needed.

Amidst the signs of these times, we discern our role to help bring about the empowerment of our people to choose candidates for the May national election based on who they believe to be upholding four core values: maka-Diyos, maka-tao, maka-bayan at maka-kalikasan. We respond through formation: by launching the voters empowerment program TAPaTKA 2022, or Tamang Ako Para sa Tamang Kandidato, offering reflection questions and guides, "10 Commandments for a Well Discerned Vote" disseminated through social media channels, and developing a revised formation module for Bawa't Isa Mahalaga.

We call upon all of our members to take part in the formation programs by both undergoing them and offering them to other groups as part of our commitment to formation for social transformation and our active participation in the building of the Kingdom.

We thank our Lord for our beloved country and for the deepest, innermost desire of Filipinos to uphold and stake their lives for these values. We thank Him for our freedom and right to choose our leaders, and for the emergence of a new form of People Power ushering in the transformation of Philippine politics into a force more in keeping with His will.

We beg the Lord for the grace to be faithful to the mission to live faith that does justice for the building of His Kingdom in our beloved Pilipinas, bayang magiliw at lupang hinirang.
