Dear friends in the Lord, greetings!
Our CLCP has been invited to sign a public document along with other Filipino communities to declare a climate emergency, to be presented to Malacanang today. Nominally, CLCP is a member of the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas which is a signatory. But more than this, and after much thought and prayer, our NLC instead invites our community to discern more meaningful ways to support our ecology, one of our apostolic frontiers. We share the following Ecological Examen as a tool for discerning how Our Lord of Creation wishes us to respond to Pope Francis' Laudato Si, a call for reconciling God, creation, and humanity amidst global climate change.
We enjoin all our communities to use this tool for their community meetings especially during this Earth Week, to discern their individual and communal response. Those who feel called to respond by forming an affirmative action group may send their names to Beng Climaco, NLC Lead for Apostolic Initiatives ([email protected]), or through our Secretariat ([email protected] | 09158005368).
May God bless us and our common home! ?
