Dear Brothers & Sisters:

We, the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, appeal to our brothers and sisters in the Diocesan Councils of the Laity, Ecclesiastical Communities, National Lay Organizations and all Catholic lay people, to join us in praying for Peace in the Holy Land.

The attack on the people in that land is shocking and surprising, and we need to pray harder now for an end to the conflict, and a pathway to peace.

We join the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa to offer Masses and prayers for the intentions of cease-fire and an end to the ongoing war in the Holy Land, asking the Lord to prevent further bloodshed, shattering of lives, and burial of hopes.”

We also join all believers as we "pray with one heart and one soul with Pope Francis.” 

We know that our prayers will be answered, and peace will reign. Let us pray:

“Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace.  Open our eyes and our hearts and give us the courage to say: ‘Never again war!”
